2023 USASP Early Career Forum

Attention research assistants, graduate students, postdocs, and junior faculty: be sure to consider the Early Career Forum schedule as you plan your trip to Durham!

See here for Early Career Forum program

The Early Career Forum is USASP’s annual information and networking session specifically designed for trainees and early-stage investigators (individuals who completed their training <5 years prior). This year’s program will include two hour-long breakout sessions wherein expert panelists will discuss soft skill development with participants who are at the same career stage and who have similar career goals. In the third hour of the session, participants will meet with senior faculty, NIH and industry representatives in small groups to discuss various topics. Seating is limited at each of these tables, so be sure to register for this event as soon as possible! The event will close with a reception open to all USASP Meeting registrants. The Early Career Forum is the perfect way to kick off the 2023 meeting – low pressure networking with individuals who you’ll likely see at this meeting for years to come!

The 2023 Early Career Forum will be held at the meeting venue (Washington Duke Inn) on Tuesday, April 11 from 12:30-4:30 pm ET; virtual attendance will not be offered. Registration for this event is free but required. Registration will open in early March and close on April 4.

Target Audience: Students including undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, research assistants, and early career professionals (defined as someone who has completed your terminal degree (MD/DO, PhD, RN, etc.) and are currently in training OR are within 5 years of completing your training).

Registration: This event will only be available for in person attendees and registration is required. To register to attend the Early Career Forum please select the designated box in the conference registration form.
