CALL FOR SYMPOSIA

USASP I Annual Scientific Meeting (Hybrid)
April 14-17, 2024 I The Westin Seattle, Seattle, Washington

This 2024 USASP Annual Scientific Meeting will take place from April 14-17, 2024 at The Westin Seattle in Seattle, Washington. This year’s conference theme is Understanding the Complexity of Pain from Diverse Perspectives.

Submission deadline November 1, 2023

Symposia should encompass topics related to clinical practice, basic science or mechanisms, and translational research related to pain.

Guidelines for Proposals

  • Presentations should include multiple disciplines (e.g., representing both clinical and basic science disciplines).

  • Applications typically have at least 3 speakers. If deviating from this number, please justify the number of speakers on the application.

  • The panel is expected to represent different institutions and span multiple perspectives, including career stage, disciplines, and translation.

  • (if applicable) It is strongly recommended that the scientific content of the symposium is significantly different than that of a recent USASP symposium in which one of the named speakers participated.

Guidelines for Submission:

  1. The abstract should be 250 words or less. If selected, the abstract will be used to market the session.

  2. Separately from the abstract, please include the following information

    1. Speaker names, titles, affiliations, titles of the presentations

    2. 2-3 learning objectives for each presentation (this is required for Continuing Education credits).

    3. Describe how much time you will devote to Q/A with audience participation and how you will engage the audience.

    4. Briefly describe in two to three sentences (no more) why your symposium should be included in the 2024 meeting.

Session Format:

These symposia sessions will last about 80 minutes and are strongly encouraged to be interactive between the other presenters and attendees whenever possible. A moderator (typically identified from the presenters) should be prepared with follow-up questions for the presenters and the audience in order to stimulate audience and presenter participation during a Q&A session.
